Dr. Ahuero, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, obtained her Bachelors degree at Stanford University and her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where she finished in the top 10% of her class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Completing her residency training in Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, she then completed a distinguished Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship offered through the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). This highly competitive fellowship is exclusively dedicated to plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, orbit, lacrimal system (tear drain) and upper face. Dr. Ahuero has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and serves as a reviewer for Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the Digital Journal of Ophthalmology.Dr. Ahueros specific interests …include facial rejuvenation, eyelid lifts, eyelid malposition correction, skin cancer reconstruction and treatment of tearing disorders. Highly recommend Dr Ahuero and team. She was extremely informative and explained the procedure and after care throughly. Her team was so kind and helpful throughout my visits. It’s been several months since my procedure, and I’m still in love with the results. I feel more confident without makeup and in harsh lighting. I look refreshed and well rested. I don’t get comments that I look tired anymore.

I saw Dr. Ahuero for an upper lid tuck (blepharoplasty) and weak muscle repair (ptosis). From the first consultation visit to the post op visits I was impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of Dr. Ahuero and the entire team. Bedside manner is outstanding in listening to my concerns and questions, taking time to answer and explain everything clearly, and just radiating confidence. The procedures themselves were quite smooth with a competent team with no anomalies. The anesthesiologist even talked to me afterwords to give a status of my blood pressure - which I've never had anyone do before - showing the caring nature of them all. I had my final visit this week, but will gladly refer anyone to her and the practice.

Everyone was great I had doubts about getting my eyes done, but from the initial consultation to post op appointment, its been a great experience. Dr Ahuero was such a great choice for me. She totally put me at ease and explained everything that was going to be done. I out all my trust in her and she did not disappoint

Wonderful experience. Dr. Ahuero was detailed in her explanation of what to expect from the procedure and everything went very smoothly. The office staff was very professional helpful with questions I had also. I would highly recommend them.
