Dr. Ming Wang is a Harvard- and MIT-trained MD (magna cum laude) and PhD in laser physics who has built a global reputation as a world-class cataract and LASIK eye surgeon. As founding director of the Wang Vision Institute and a Clinical Professor at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, Dr. Wang combines deep scientific training with decades of hands-on surgical experience. He has performed more than 55,000 procedures — including surgeries on over 4,000 fellow physicians — and is the author of more than 100 scientific papers (including a publication in Nature) and 10 ophthalmic textbooks, making him a laser-physics–trained innovator in sight restoration and refractive care.

I had an amazing experience here. I thought this is something I would never do. I would be too nervous. I went on a limb and walked in. Not nervous at all. The staff made this feel like an everyday thing, very light and high spirits. I have been and will continue to recommend Wang Vision Institute.

I elected to undergo the Smile procedure at Wang Vision and requested Dr. Wang to do the surgery. I was very happy from the moment I had a very thorough free consulation until the end of surgery. Dr Wang and his team were very helpful and answered all my concerns upfront and made me feel ready for the surgery. This was my biggest fear and I had my doubts leading up to the big day but the tech James and Dr Wang made me feel comfortable during the Smile procedure. I am so happy I made the decision to do this and I was able to see 20/20 without wearing glasses/contacts after 25 years. Thank you Wang Vision for your incredible work and helping my vision!

I was diagnosed with cataracts at another vision center in Chattanooga, and the staff there was extremely "hard sell" about getting in to their surgery center. I went to Wang Vision Institute for a second opinion and was very impressed. Exams, testing, and diagnosis were all very professional; the options were laid out before me, including detailed pricing. I was then allowed to take time to make my decision. I decided on the multifocal lens replacement in both eyes and have not regretted this decision. Surgery and follow up exams have been great, and my vision post-surgery is better than 20-20! I highly recommend Wang vision Center! Worth the trip from outside Nashville.

I just left my follow up appointment after cataract surgery at Wang Vision and I am already encouraging family members with early cataract problems to follow my lead. I got the new Vivity lens and less than 24 hours after surgery my vision is already 20/25 and still improving. Dr. Frenkel completed my surgery and he is a very confidence inspiring young doctor. He and Dr. Wang are also supported by an excellent staff. The entire process instilled great confidence in me and the results have so far been spectacular.

Dr. Wang & his staff are amazing. Always takes time to answer my questions concerning my eye health. Staff is very personable and friendly. I would recommend Dr. Wand & staff to anyone looking for eye treatment/care.

I had 3D LASIK done at Wang Vision and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I was able to see clearly less than 24 hours after the procedure and have had no pain or discomfort. My prescription was -7.25 and I couldn't see anything without contacts or glasses. It is amazing to have 20/20 vision and know that I don't have to deal with contacts anymore. If anyone is considering it, but is nervous about the procedure, don't be. It was painless and quick. I would recommend Wang Vision to anyone thinking about having LASIK done.
