Dr. Steven J Tunnell, DC

I owe my ability to be able to work, move, and function to Dr. Tunnell. I’ve been an athlete most of my life with many injuries: labral tears in right/left hip, right/left knee injuries, herniated disk in my lower back and herniated disk in my neck, labral tears in right/left shoulder, and right hand/elbow injuries. As you can see, I was extremely debilitated. With all these injuries, you’d think I was a UFC fighter. Dr. Tunnel referred me to the best known surgeon in Colorado for my hips, and he was able to keep me working even with the many injuries I’ve incurred. I owe him my recovery, he is the BEST in his field, he’s compassionate, kind, empathetic, and excellent at rehabilitation, soft tissue mobilization, weight training, nutrition, and the only chiropractor that can adjust my neck. If it weren’t for him, I would not have been able to work, make a living for myself,. He worked with me for years to get me to not only function but to be thriving in my life. Dr. Tunnell is… a “game changer!” I strongly recommend his services to all and especially those who still want to be able to be athletic. In spite of all my injuries, I am an extremely high functioning, strong individual. To look at me, one could not be able to tell that I’ve had so many injuries because im extremely high-functioning. I am a previous athlete that has has counted on Dr. Tunnell to treat and direct me through my many injuries over the past 20 years. Dr. Tunnell has always provided high quality sports medicine. I saw the previous review on this site and found it deplorable. This person obviously has never seen Dr. Tunnell, and only wrote the review in attempt to hurt his practice. He is the total opposite of what is written in this review. I have always trusted my career and reputation in the hands of Dr. Tunnell. If your injuries are such that he can't treat you, he will refer you to the best specialists in the field. I have been so appreciative of his professionalism; I have referred him other athletes, friends, family member, and even my wife. He has been 5 stars in all regards.

I visited the office and I found out I wasn't on the book. The tattoted receptionist was loud mouth and called me hun,which I find innapropriate and offensive in medical office setting. Dr Steve did not listen about my arthrittis in my back and in my neck' also i have a torn ACL he did not address it . I felt rushed and I felt that I was not valued as patient. I was in a lot of pain almost crying he told me "i should ice it" ... Really? His deamenor was cold angry and ALOOF. The beauty of the office camuflauges the lack of respect . What kind of a doctor tells a patient to ice it' when the pstient has arthrittis and ACl tear' and told me to schedule a follow up appointment.

I had a hip problem for several years that went undiagnosed. My first visit I was sent out for studies and my problem was identified, and he sent me to a specialist. My problem was resolved and now I see him whenever something hurts.

Dr. Tunnell keeps my running group out there doing what we love. We all go to him for our hurts. He has seen over 10 of us in the group. He will always give us an honest assessment and either treat us or refer us to another specialist. He has great bedside manner, a sense of humor, and professionalism that makes the entire experience great. I have also sent many in my family to him.

I’ve been a patient since mid-2017. I started going to Dr. Tunnell due to some nagging muscle-skeletal issues concerning my low back and shoulder. I had completed two local amateur Spartan races and realized that I couldn’t ignore these nagging problems any longer. When I first met Dr. Tunnell, I knew I was in good hands, because he keeps in shape himself and understands the frustration of someone who has a lifestyle of health and fitness. After consulting with me about my concerns and realistic goals, he devised a treatment plan for me. My issues were chronic and therefore took several treatments, but Dr. Tunnell was encouraging, professional and great. Thank you for helping me out.

I own a Martial Arts Center and have been in business for decades. It is imperative that I stay on top of my health and when my students are injured, to get them back to full health. This is why I always refer my students, friends and family to Dr. Tunnell. I have been his patient for the past 2 decades. He will always give a thorough evaluation and either treat or refer to the appropriate health care provider. You could set a watch to his punctuality. His front office always takes care of me and my referrals in a professional and friendly manner.

I have been seeing Dr. Tunnell for over 11 years now. His soft tissue mobilization treatments are one-of-a-kind, and even though I have to travel considerable distance to see him, as I live outside L.A. county, it is always worth the trip. In addition to his unique approach to resolving pain issues, Dr. Tunnel is down-to-earth, highly professional, warm, and kind, and exceptionally thorough and skilled at diagnosis. He is also very knowledgeable when it comes to suggesting targeted exercises to reinforce the treatments. I cannot recommend Dr. Tunnell highly enough. He is truly one-of-a-kind ( and I guess that explains why he "books up" so easily)

Dr. Tunnell is quite extraordinary in his approach to alleviating the pain that comes with life! I've seen him for two separate issues & both times he was my comforting hero. No quick fix here; he spends the time, listens & performs miracles. I don't usually write reviews but his ease & professionalism need to be recognized, even if it means he will be too busy for me when next I need him!

Has always provided excellent care to me and my athletes. I know the 2 negative reviews on this site were placed by disgruntled woman he dated - Elisabeth Spourdalakis ( never a patient of his ). Please disregard her reviews.

Dr Tunnell has been fair In his treatment, overpriced but does an ok job.

Dr Tunnell has treated me for over a decade. During this time he has been professional and delivered first rate treatment for multiple injuries (Shoulder, neck, back and hip). He has always been able to diagnose and offer precise treatment, providing me a sure path to health and rehabilitation. Thanks Dr. Tunnell!
